About Red Beat
What is Red Beat Entertainment?
Red Beat Entertainment is a Kansas City-based live entertainment company founded and led by Paul Seiz. Red Beat produces and represents live music, DJs, dueling pianos, interactive piano entertainment, and custom musical combinations for weddings, corporate events, festivals, venues, and private celebrations.
Where does Red Beat perform?
Red Beat is based in Kansas City and serves the Kansas City metro, the Midwest, and events nationwide. Travel arrangements depend on the act, date, location, and production plan. Share your venue and city when you inquire.
Who is the booking contact?
Paul Seiz is the current booking contact. Email paul@redbeatentertainment.com or use the Red Beat contact page. Include your event date, city or venue, approximate guest count, and the kind of experience you are considering.
Choose the right act
What is Red Beat Dueling Pianos?
Red Beat Dueling Pianos is an interactive show led by two piano entertainers. Guests help shape the performance through song requests, singalongs, comedy, and participation. It is a different format from a solo pianist or a DJ.
What is DJ PJS?
DJ PJS is Paul Seiz’s personally delivered DJ and MC offering for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations. The experience centers on music selected for the audience, clear hosting, and event flow. Live piano or vocals can be discussed as part of a combined plan.
What kind of music does Pink Velvet play?
Pink Velvet pairs Paul Seiz at the piano with Emma Jo on vocals. The repertoire includes jazz standards, soulful favorites, and recognizable pop songs reimagined for cocktails and conversation. Ask about the duo or an ensemble suited to your reception or event.
Are Songwheels and Neonic Nights the same thing?
Songwheels is the act; Neonic Nights is a distinct experience presented by Songwheels. The live setup combines two performers, vocals, keyboards, drum pads, and tracks. Neonic Nights emphasizes an 80s/90s neon party atmosphere and offers an optional body-painting pre-party. Discuss the theme and production you want when booking.
How does live piano karaoke work?
In live piano karaoke with Paul Seiz, guests request songs, sing from the audience, or take the microphone while Paul accompanies them live. Unlike a prerecorded karaoke track, a live pianist can adjust the key, timing, and arrangement to support the singer. Participation and energy are shaped around the event.
What is The Winter Treats?
The Winter Treats is Red Beat’s seasonal live-music offering built around reimagined holiday classics, festive harmonies, and winter atmosphere. Instrumentation and show style can be adapted for cocktail gatherings or larger holiday celebrations; confirm the lineup in your proposal.
Can Red Beat provide music for a whole wedding?
Yes. Red Beat can help combine reception entertainment with ceremony musicians and cocktail-hour music. Options described on the wedding entertainment page include DJ PJS, Dueling Pianos, Songwheels, Pink Velvet, live piano, violin, harp, acoustic guitar, and small ensembles. The combination depends on your plans and availability.
Can the entertainment suit a family-friendly audience?
Audience fit is part of the planning conversation. Red Beat Dueling Pianos can tailor language, comedy, and interaction to the crowd, and DJ PJS plans music around the audience. Tell Paul about children, guest ages, company expectations, and any content restrictions before choosing a format.
Booking and planning
How much does entertainment cost?
Pricing is quoted for the event rather than presented as one universal package. The act, performance time, location, travel, and production needs affect the scope. Request a proposal that identifies the performers, services, and equipment included. A duo, a DJ, and a larger show are different products; compare the complete experience.
What should I include in an inquiry?
Send the event date, city and venue if known, event type, approximate guest count, desired performance times, preferred act or atmosphere, and any budget guidance. Mention ceremony music, cocktail hour, MC duties, guest participation, and production requirements if they are part of your plans.
How far ahead should I inquire?
Inquire once you have a date or a short list of dates. Availability is specific to the performers and the event. Ask Paul to confirm the date and the steps required to book; do not treat a general inquiry as a confirmed reservation.
Can we request songs or set a do-not-play list?
Share important songs, must-plays, do-not-plays, and any special moments in advance. Dueling Pianos is request-driven; DJ PJS uses your direction and reads the room. Songwheels welcomes advance favorites and can take event requests when they fit the flow. Ask about any song that is essential to your event before booking.
Can we combine live music and DJ entertainment?
Yes, combined experiences can be discussed. For example, a wedding can move from live ceremony music to Pink Velvet cocktails and DJ PJS, or from a piano cocktail hour into Dueling Pianos. Confirm timing, personnel, transitions, and equipment in the proposal instead of assuming every combination is included.
Production and venue details
Does Red Beat provide sound, microphones, and lighting?
Production depends on the act and the room. Red Beat Dueling Pianos can provide piano shells, sound, lighting, and microphones, with options to scale up. DJ PJS offers sound, wireless microphones, and dance-floor lighting planning. Paul’s solo piano setup can include sound and keyboard production. Confirm the equipment and responsibilities for your specific event.
How much stage space does Dueling Pianos need?
For the standard two-piano show, Red Beat recommends approximately 25 feet of width and at least 10 feet of depth. More depth is useful for a drummer or additional musicians. Share the venue layout and stage dimensions so Red Beat can confirm the configuration before you finalize the floor plan.
How long is a Dueling Pianos show?
The current Red Beat Dueling Pianos format typically centers on a focused two-hour show. Up to three hours of seamless entertainment can be discussed when the event schedule calls for it. The agreed performance time and any added musicians or production should be listed in the proposal.
Can Paul use a piano already at the venue?
For the solo piano experience, Paul can work with an appropriate piano at the venue or provide keyboard/piano production when needed. Send the piano details and room information before confirming the setup. Do not assume a venue piano is suitable without a discussion.
What should we discuss with the venue?
Coordinate the performance area, load-in access, schedule, electrical supply, sound restrictions, microphones, and any outdoor or weather considerations. Red Beat and the venue should agree on the setup for the selected act; one act’s stage recommendation does not apply automatically to every other offering.
Still deciding? Start with the room.
Tell Paul who is coming, what you are celebrating, and how you want the event to feel. You do not need to know the right act before you get in touch.
